Funerals

In order to schedule a funeral, please contact the Parish Office by phone at 613 233-1125. On the weekend, please follow the voice prompts in order to speak to, or leave a message for, the Rector or the Vice-Rector.

The following points provide some guidance with respect to scheduling a funeral:

• Funerals are not celebrated on Sundays in the Archdiocese of Ottawa.
• Daily confessions and masses at Saint Patrick's are such that funerals are most easily scheduled to start in the morning no earlier than 9:30 am and no later than 10:30 am.  In the afternoon, funerals can begin no earlier than 1:30 pm and would need to start no later than 2:30 pm. On Saturday, funerals are most easily celebrated in the morning. Due to marriages and baptisms, the Basilica may not be available on a Saturday morning.
• Our scavi (lower level hall) is available for receptions, subject to avalability. It is air-conditioned in the summer.
• Both the church and the scavi are accessible for those with mobility disabilities. Accessible washrooms are available at the church and scavi levels.
